Adhering to the tropical climate, Vietnam's weather in December is slightly different from typical regions. For example, December is among the coldest and driest times in northern Vietnam. This is also the peak tourist season for international travelers coming to Halong Bay or Hanoi. Meanwhile, the temperatures in southern Vietnam just decline a bit remaining around 26 - 30 Celsius Degree. Thus, this is a favorable season for tourists to explore beaches and islands in the south.

There are no beaches in Hanoi. However, the capital city is close to several popular beach destinations namely Halong Bay and Cat Ba Island.
You cannot find any beaches in Ho Chi Minh City as a landlocked city. However, Ho Chi Minh City is a good base, from here driving further 100km to Vung Tau City, a prevalent beach city in southern Vietnam.
